KERHAVEN SUNNYBANK SILHOUETTE
                    HIC,CGN,ROM

She was from my first Kerhaven litter. She was  the "QUEEN" of Kerhaven.  My love, my heart dog. We experienced so many 'firsts' together.
First collie I ever showed in a CCC National, a Jr. pup she won the BBE class against a 2 yr old

First Kerhaven collie to win points, she disliked showing so never finished

Gave me my first all normal eyed litter (by a n/c stud), 5 title holders, 4 of them Champions

Earned the first HIC's for my kennel. Herself and two of her 7 month old offspring

As a result, she was my first (and so far only) Register of Merit collie

First dog I trained for agility she started training at 8 years old, she was the top in her class

First and so far ONLY dog I ever tried Freestyle with, she was a natural

Taken  to the 'Bridge' only 2 months short of her 12th birthday, due to an unfortunate accident.

These beautiful acrlyic oil painting of Gypsy (right) and her daughter Sierra was done by Wendy Jackson owner/breeder of Freeheelen collies located in Ontario.  Wendy is no longer with us she has gone to the "Rainbow Bridge" to gather her loved collies of the past to accompany her "HOME". We Miss you Wendy.

This is Freedom my very first smooth collie, pictured here with one of her smooth coated puppies.  Freedom was my introduction to the smooth variety, and what a wonderful adventure it has been.  A dyed-in-the-wool rough collie person, I had no interest in owning a smooth. I just didn't feel they looked as I and most others expect a collie to look. But a good friend and well experienced collie breeder 'talked' me into getting her. I am so glad I did. Freedom also, like Gypsy, gave me some firsts..she was the first dog I have even had who ranked among the top in Canada. Freedom was # 4 top winning smooth in 2002. She is my first, and so far ONLY Am/Can champion. It is not possible for me to travel to shows in states..to expensive for me. But another collie breeder liked Free well enough to take her and showed her to her U.S. title for me. Freedom is in her 10th year now, and is spayed. Her handsome son Ilmari is neutered as he didn't quite meet my critera for a breeding animal. But one day, through one of my lovely rough girls I will once again have some smooth collies..they are wonderful dogs. They have everything to offer the rough has as far as intelligence, personality, and loyalty go wrapped into an easy to clean, easy care coat. For the busy on the go collie loving family who likes hiking, jogging, camping and or any other activities one might want to include a four footed family member, the smooth is a perfect choice as, even in the muddiest conditions, clean up with them is a snap! Below are two sketches done in charcoal and in pastel, that a friend of mine and admirer of Freedom sent me.
                                                             Thank you Stacie.
